University Hall project at Nottingham Trent University – Phase 2 is complete

Following our involvement in Phase 1 of the University Hall project for Nottingham Trent University which converted a former synagogue and Wesleyan chapel into a new ceremonial hall, HWA are delighted to see Phase 2 reach completion. The continuation of the project has seen the graduation hall linked to a new music centre via a glass vestibule. Within the new building are practice rooms, a dance studio and a restaurant. On the outside a stunning living wall enhances the environment for both users of the building and passers-by alike.

This was a project requiring a combination of careful conservation and restoration work to the original chapel with modern design techniques for the new build sections. HWA provided structural and civil engineering consultancy and design throughout. Working with Gleeds property and construction consultants and YMD Boon Architects we are proud to have been involved with this stunning combination of heritage and contemporary design.
