Meet the Team

Paul graduated from Kingston University with a degree in Civil Engineering and has almost 30 years of experience in the industry. He began his career as a Graduate Engineer, spending over 6 years developing his technical foundations before joining a major engineering consultancy in Derby, where he built a successful 22-year career. In July 2026, Paul joined HWA, bringing with him a wealth of technical expertise, leadership experience, and industry knowledge. He has been a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers since 2006.

Throughout his career, Paul has been inspired by the people he has worked with and the opportunities they have provided. From securing his first role during a challenging period for the UK construction industry to earning the trust of senior leadership to establish and lead a new regional office, his journey has been shaped by collaboration, determination, and professional growth.

Passionate about personal development and continuous improvement, Paul is always looking for ways to expand his skills and knowledge. With nearly 3 decades in the profession, he has developed extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing complex projects and building lasting client relationships. He is committed to delivering the best outcomes for clients while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for colleagues. For Paul, engineering is about solving problems, taking ownership and delivering practical, effective solutions.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys DIY projects and has a particular interest in carpentry, with a garden pergola being one of his most recent creations. His fascination with older buildings extends beyond the workplace, and he enjoys understanding the challenges and craftsmanship involved in renovating period properties.
