Meet the Team

Lucas joined HWA in May 2025, bringing with him a strong background in structural design and a passion for buildings. He began his career in 2019 as a bridges engineer and became an Incorporated Engineer with the ICE in 2024, having completed his civil engineering degree the year before.

Inspired by his grandfather, a Rolls-Royce engineer, Lucas combined his love of maths, physics, and problem solving to pursue engineering. He has since led on projects like the design of a 2 storey educational facility of steel framed construction, collaborating with architects and MEP engineers to deliver on time and within budget.
Lucas is skilled in structural modelling and drawing software and stays on top of industry trends through CPD and ICE events. He’s focused on growing his technical expertise and building lasting client relationships.
Hard work and teamwork are at the core of Lucas’ professional ethos. With a clear goal of progressing his career and eventually managing his own projects, Lucas is driven by a passion for excellence.
Outside of work, Lucas enjoys playing golf, supporting Derby County football club, and celebrating a job well done with a well earned pint.
