Meet the Team

ANDY BOWLER
Director

Andy started his engineering career at 16 as an apprentice technician where he attended college on day release to achieve a HNC in Civil Engineering.  He then joined a multi-disciplinary team producing technical drawings for building projects along with all associated external works and infrastructure.  During this time Andy developed a keen interest in the highways and infrastructure sector and successfully worked up to the level of Senior Engineer designing and detailing S38 and S104 agreements for housing developments with relevant Local Authorities. One of the most significant projects he worked on during this time was the development of the Grade II listed Roundhouse in Derby.

In May 2016 Andy joined HWA to further his professional development. Since then he has obtained a First-Class BEng (Hons) degree in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering from the University of Derby and now has a senior management role leading the civils aspect of our projects with responsibility for undertaking and managing the highways and drainage design aspects of HWA projects and advising clients generally on civil engineering matters. He is also currently working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.

Outside of work Andy likes to play a spot of golf (but admits to being a fair weather player) and manage the behaviour of his hyperactive dogs!  He has an avid interest in live music and being a bit of a secret rocker at heart, likes to attend gigs whenever possible.
