Remediation work begins at Sherwood Forest

With the opening of the new visitor centre at Sherwood Forest last year, work has now begun to remove the old one. The much-loved buildings are being carefully taken down in order to reduce the impact on the woodland habitat and nearby ancient trees. The site will be restored to lowland heathland and wood pasture and will create another 4 hectares of forest, providing valuable wildlife habitat and even more forest for visitors to explore.

HWA are proud to be involved in this local project, securing the legacy of such an important part of Nottingham’s tradition and history.
