HWA have been involved with this project to redevelop a derelict industrial site in North Nottinghamshire from the pre-planning stage. Early layout advice and ground investigation services were provided to inform the masterplanning and zoning of the site.

The final, approved development layout provides 80 dwellings, including affordable housing. A detailed ground remediation scheme was required to address the site’s industrial history in the context of a residential end use.

HWA were responsible for the adoption process for the on-site highways and drainage design, together with the detailed structural design of individual plots and house types for Phase One of the development which was completed in 2019.

The project includes the creation of attractive communal open space areas, including a water feature in the centre which has been incorporated into the sustainable drainage system. These factors add value to the site amenity and ecology strategies.

Phase One of the scheme is now completed and occupied. Phase Two is currently under construction, with HWA providing continuing civil and structural engineering consultancy.
