A new 71 bedroom care home, in collaboration with Wynbrook homes and Franklin Ellis Architects.

Positioned at the heart of the new local centre, the care home forms part of the Tay Road feature square, a mixed-use hub adjacent to the new primary school. Alongside the care facility, the project also includes 2 storey retail units and a medical centre, enhancing the range of services available to the community.

New Lubbesthorpe itself has been carefully masterplanned as a sustainable new town, designed to address the region’s need for new homes, employment opportunities, and essential infrastructure. Spanning 325 acres of parkland and wetlands to the south of Leicester Forest East, the development dedicates more than half of its area to green and open spaces. These will be managed by The Land Trust, ensuring the landscapes remain safe, well-maintained, and environmentally sustainable for residents.

HWA has been involved from the earliest planning stages, providing civil and structural engineering consultancy. A particular area of focus was the design of the roof pitch lines and attic rooms, which required the development of a complex roof truss solution.

The New Lubbesthorpe care home is set to become an integral part of this growing community, offering high-quality facilities within a thoughtfully designed environment.
