HWA provided a full range of consulting engineering services for this extensive development of high-quality residential accommodation and on-site facilities.

The development includes a hub building containing communal facilities such as a gym, cinema, café, bar and common room, two blocks of apartment buildings and a number of detached and adjoined dwelling houses all located around a landscaped site adjacent to fishing lakes and the historic Titchfield Abbey.

A highway was adopted, specifically designed and constructed to serve the Friary Meadow development and a country park. This land was gifted by the developer as part of a Section 106 Planning Agreement.

A challenging site of differing levels, the drainage strategy incorporates outfalls into an existing pond, which has been maintained throughout as a fishing facility. This has been achieved by the design of a complex system of flow restrictions and water storage facilities under a sustainable drainage system (SuDS) which ensures that both the flow into the pond and water quality are maintained.

The buildings are constructed of reinforced concrete and traditional masonry construction with steel framed external balcony elements for access and to enjoy the view!
