Alfreton Park Community Special School

Completed in 2021 this modern school replaces and extends outdated and unsuitable teaching facilities for children aged 2-19.

HWA provided civil and structural engineering consultancy support to Henry Brothers Midlands during their successful Design and Build tender bid and continued our collaboration with them with Civil and Structural engineering services through the project construction. This included ground modelling, an updated drainage strategy, ground improvement and steelwork design.
At this school children have highly complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities with some having additional medical needs which is why this new building will provide an improved learning and development experience for them.
This site is adjacent to Alfreton Park and the new school has replaced outdated and unsuitable facilities at the existing school. Expanding the facility consists of 12 classrooms, 6 group rooms including specialist therapy rooms, soft play, combined hall and dining area with capacity for 100 students.
