Planning consent for retirement village at Rock Valley

We are thrilled to share that our project in Rock Valley in Mansfield, has successfully obtained planning consent. Situated off Bath Lane and Rock Valley, this development will be a dedicated retirement village catering to individuals aged 55 and above. Featuring 74 accommodation units comprising 27 bungalows designed in various styles and 47 well-appointed apartments.

Formerly home to the Metal Box factory, whose history dates back to 1839, this site played a pivotal role in producing tins for renowned brands such as Cadbury’s and Nestle. With production ending over a decade ago, the factory buildings were cleared, leaving behind only the historic clock tower. This will be preserved and integrated into the design of the new apartment complex, adding a touch of heritage to the modern development.

Our involvement with this project begun during the pre-planning stage, where we assisted the Environment Agency in utilising the site to alleviate flooding from the Mansfield area. With planning consent now secured, our next phase involves the undertaking of structural designs for the bungalow and apartment buildings along with essential drainage and access road design.

This transformative development holds great promise for the area, breathing new life into a location that has been a hub of activity since the 19th century. Once employing thousands of individuals from the local community, this site will regain its vibrancy, contributing positively to the neighbourhood.

We are eager to provide updates as this exciting project progresses, marking a significant step toward revitalising the Rock Valley area.
