It’s almost the nations favourite time of the year but as we look forward to the festive season there are children who unfortunately will go without any Christmas presents this year.
Each year some parents face the worry of either putting food on the table or buying presents. With even higher energy bills and the soaring cost of food and other essential items, this year is leaning towards being a difficult time of the year for many.
The Radcliffe on Trent Methodist Church discovered that in our local schools 57 children will not have much of a Christmas since their families have very little money and will struggle at Christmas, so they decided to set up a fundraiser to buy presents for the children most in need.
We were approached by the Church to donate money to their Kids Xmas Smiles fundraiser and our staff rose to the challenge with generous donations which were matched by HWA.
We have since learnt that the work of the fundraising team means that they have exceeded their target so the further money raised will go to vital school funds.
We hope this will make a difference and bring their smiles back.
