Master’s Degree Success for Engineer Jack Thompson

We are thrilled to announce that Jack Thompson has recently achieved a Distinction in his MSc in ‘Structural Engineering with Materials’.

He has worked incredibly hard throughout his studies and is thoroughly deserving of this success.

His dissertation, ‘The Impact of CFRP Reinforcement on the Structural Capacity of a Glulam Column’ delved into the ways of making this sustainable building material more structurally comparable to steel and concrete. His considerations included if this would open up a vast array of possibilities for its use in retail and open plan spaces.

We couldn’t be prouder of Jack’s accomplishment. As Jack takes a break from his studies, we are sure his future in engineering will be just as successful. Let’s all raise a glass to Jack’s hard work and dedication, and of course, don’t forget the celebratory cake Jack!
