We wrapped up the working week early on Friday with a short walk along The Cliffs in Radcliffe on Trent. Running alongside the River Trent, the route offers stunning views northward towards Nottingham and reveals some fascinating local geology.
The area sits on sedimentary rocks known as the Mercia Mudstone Group, which has richly coloured layered formations, from pinky reds and grey greens to yellow reds and even bright white. These bands are especially striking near the weir, where they can be seen in remarkable detail.
The sunny weather set the perfect tone for an afternoon of fresh air and fun. After the walk, we returned to the office garden for a relaxing picnic lunch, followed by a light-hearted quiz (with a tempting prize), which was won by Rob.
The fun didn’t stop there. Jack introduced us to Mölkky, a Finnish throwing game that quickly became fiercely competitive… although that might just be us!
With a particularly busy few months ahead, the afternoon was a welcome opportunity to pause, reconnect as a team, and enjoy the natural beauty right on our doorstep.
