Christmas celebrations in Covent Garden

The team recently enjoyed an exciting trip to the heart of London, staying in bustling Covent Garden. Our packed itinerary was expertly managed by Michaela to ensure a seamless experience.

The adventure began with our regular staff meeting, which included a review of the year, staff awards, and a quick lunch. Afterwards, we headed to Covent Garden to drop off our bags at the hotel before making our way to Trafalgar Square to meet our walking tour guide.

The walking tour was truly fascinating, taking us through gas-lit alleyways, past historic pubs, charming bookshops, and remnants of grand mansions. We discovered hidden art installations and intriguing tales of secret societies. When the guide learned we were structural and civil engineers, he enthusiastically shared insights about London’s Victorian sewers.

The next day some of the team stayed in London to enjoy a morning of museum visits or indulging in a bit of Christmas shopping, clocking up plenty of steps along the way. In the afternoon, we came together to watch Operation Mincemeat, a critically acclaimed comedy musical. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s an absolute must—hilarious, captivating, and thoroughly entertaining.

Our adventure ended with a dramatic race through the crowds to catch our train, making it with only minutes to spare!

All in all, it was an action-packed and thoroughly enjoyable 2 days, filled with laughter, fun, and memorable moments with our colleagues. Trips like these remind us of the value of team bonding and celebrating our shared successes together.
